Water service in Service Centre restored

UPDATE: We're happy to share that water service to Service Centre has been restored.

We're aware of an issue with our water main which has cut off water service in the Service Centre at the moment.
We are actively working on the fix and will have it running as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience while we address this.

Annual Business Walk supports local business success

The District of Kitimat’s ninth annual business walk is happening October 16.
The Business Walk, held annually since 2015, is a joint collaboration with the Kitimat Chamber of Commerce to understand the business climate in Kitimat.
Using the insight gained through these events, the District and Kitimat Chamber of Commerce have been able to tailor economic development programming and advocacy to support the areas of highest interest for local businesses.

A capacity building entrepreneurship event is back, supporting Kitimat’s local business leaders and aspiring entrepreneurs.
Entrepalooza 2023 is happening Thursday, October 19 at the Hirsch Creek Golf and Winter Club, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The event is co-hosted by the Kitimat Chamber of Commerce and is being sponsored by LNG Canada, with additional support from the Kitimat Northern Sentinel.

Equity-enhancing program to grow Indigenous representation in local government

The District of Kitimat is encouraging persons who identify as Indigenous to apply for careers at the municipality following a successful application for an equity-enhancing program with the BC Office of the Human Rights Commissioner.

The overnight Haisla Bridge closure is on track to take place on Saturday, September 30. Read the below notes for all the traffic changes relating to this portion of the project coming up:
