Planned overnight Haisla Bridge closure moved to September 30

This post has been revised to reflect a new closure date:

The first of two planned Haisla Bridge closures will happen on Saturday, September 30, from 7:30 p.m. until 3:30 a.m. During this time all motor and pedestrian traffic across Haisla Bridge will be stopped to allow for the removal of the original structure.

Kitimat fire prohibition lifted as of September 12

The District of Kitimat's most recent campfire / backyard fire prohibition has now been lifted.

This is in line with a recent partial lifting of Northwest Fire Centre's campfire ban, of which you can read the notice here: Campfire Prohibition Partially Rescinded in Northwest Fire Centre – BC Wildfire Service (gov.bc.ca)
